Update error on new DTV stream box
Bought a DTV stream android box C71KW-400 from eBay and after initial
set up of remote control I receive error code 80003-001. I have done the hard reset and the reset with 7 soft resets to try and force a firmware update but each time it dies around 60% of the way through and says there is a hardware problem and I need to return the device. Any advice?

Not a great idea to buy one from eBay if the person who is selling the streaming box still owes money it will not work right. I found that out the hard way because I too bought one from eBay and had issues with it! I would send it back and buy a certified refurbished box from DirecTV they are $49.99 and you get a 1-year warranty on it! Then you will know it will work right.

I understand but this appears to be an android version issue based on what I’ve read. The device was new in box and hadn’t been used.

Just because it's new in box doesn't mean that DirecTV hadn't already activated to someone's account. Our two DirecTV Stream came pre-activated to my account.
