$100 reward card redemption Expired.

I was a U-Verse customer last year. I got a 100$ reward card in January 2013 and I didn't expect it would expired on April 2013! It is even less than 4 months! I thought it was a debit card so it should last for at least a couple of years. No one remind me it expires so soon and I never received notification to use the card. I called customer rep but the rude girl said that they cannot help me as i am no longer U-verse customer plus it has been more than 1 year. Any one can help?
