ATT does not honor promotion offers?

Anyone ever had an issue with ATT promotion and billing? I called today and was offered a promotion price on Uverse for 12 months to keep the service, but after I checked the account order summary, no promotion was applied. Since I had that issue with them before, I called and was told I have upgraded my internet and the price will increase. What?! No, thats not what I was told.  Thats fraud! I got the name of the person I talked to and the confirmation #, but I didnt get anywhere. I had this issue last year. Was given promotion , but I got a bill for a totally different amount twice, had to call 5 times and spent all day talking to them to fix this. Why does ATT does not honor their promotions? I would like to file a complaint with the appropriate agencies. Anyone knows who to contact about this? I have a feeling this has happend to many ATT Customers. And I have been a ATT Customer for years.

Originally I called ATT because my bill was always changing. Seriously I had to call every 3 months to complain. And as usual ATT great customer service would give you a bunch of bull. Well, they offered me a promotional offer for a year that was unbelievable. I was so happy. For 3 straight months my bill was the same unbelievable. I couldn't believe it.Well you guessed it,the next month my bill went up 10 dollars. I called ATT, they told me my promotional offer on the HD channels expired that's why the extra $10. Well on my by bill it clearly reads promotional offer expires 12/30/14, yet it's only MAY. ATT never honors their promotional offers.

I am going through the same problem.   I had a promotional rate, but after two months the price doubled.  I was told to pay the current bill and I would be credited the next month.   But the next month (this month) I not only didn't recieve the credit, but was, again, billed double the agreed-to promotional rate for U-verse.

I would suggest contacting the California Department of Consumer Affairs.   They are very effective at assisting California customers in dealing with unscrupulous business practices.   If you are not in California, you may have a similar agency in your state.

Or you can go straight to people at AT&T who know how to do customer service:  Click this AT&T logoCustomer Service link to send a Private Message (PM) to the AT&T customer service team to help you resolve your request. You can expect a reply via return PM (the blue envelope envelope  in the upper right hand corner of this site, next to your avatar and name) in a business day or three.  Speed things up by including your Billing Account Number and the best way and time to reach you.

Yes!!  I have been dealing with this since February and it is now November.  Every month I have to call and every month I am promised that my promotion will be applied.  They fix it for the one month, but it's right back to being wrong the next.  The last guy even promised to give the promotion price forever!  I am so tired of the empty promises to humor the customer. The guy I talked to today said they created a case (I have 9 months of notes and calls and you're just creating a case now??)  He said it may not be resolved by next month's bill so I should call again.  WHAT?    I was promised a promotion in February, I have overpaid at this point for several months, I have to call every month and go through all the nonsense again. This is exhausting and frustrating.  Every chance I get I tell people how poor AT&T customer service is.  One more month and it's time to find another company.

@Rutabaga917 my advice to you is the same as to the person above you.  Click the link and see if they can fix it.  If they don't, please post back here and let us know.

How does AT&T get away with this?  I was told originally that AT&T would not play the crazy "rate change" game I had experienced with my cable provider a few years ago and my experience is they have become even worse at this.  I can't even pay my bills because they never honor the promotions/rates I have been promised from the last time I call.  Then I need to take an hour out of my day (from my job) to fight and get the bill corrected - just so I can make a payment. I just called AGAIN   - owe 2months bills (both are incorrect; one is brand new) and was told since they are Past Due they can make no adjustiments.  SERIOUSLY??

I have precedence/history that this is how AT&T consistently does business.  I am not going to be held hostage and expected to pay a bill that is not right.  I will look to a public agency or some investigative reporter who can make AT&T start playing by the rules.  I will look to switch providers and be done with this once and for all.

I have exactly the same problem. I called two days before my 12 months promotion on the TV and internet service expires and asked ATT if they can still offer me the same service with the same price for another year or if not disconnect my service before my promotion expires. ATT representative offered me the same price and provided me with the confirmation number which obviously doesn't mean anything. Once I received my bill, I noticed that this is not the promotion that I was promised it's $30 more and the story started from there. It's 2-3 days that I have been talked to several people and they say unfortunately that promotion promised by ATT representative is not available and You have to keep this new one otherwise you will be charged for early termination fee. It's really redicioules that ATT treats the customers this way and they lie to people. Does anybody know how to file a complaint against them in order to stop them.

I'm really upset. I received an email less than 24 hours ago regarding a promotion to add HBO for 9.99/month for 12 months. The offer expires in June and I called today (next day) to add it and no one was able to help me and apply the promo. I was on hold 2 different times for a total of 1 hour before I became so frustrated and hung up / gave up. How come these promo emails are sent out and when I / customer calls to redeem the promo, they cannot? This boggles my mind and is pushing me away from using ATT.
