AT&T No Longer Honors Long Standing Customers: Only wants existing customers to get DIRECTV
Has anyone else experienced this? I have the top tier package with here: 450! and AT&T no longer wants to help me keep my sevice for a reasonable price. Here in San Diego they are offering NEW customers great deals to switch or join but place no value on loyal customers. I just gave my last payment to this disgraceful company and was wondering if anyone else had to deal with this.
Forget trying to speak to anyone. I've spent hours and the only live people I get are in a call center set up to coerce the customer into getting DIRECTV. If you don't, they are rude and condesending. No deals for the good customers.
Goodbye AT&T

Yes, things have become very bad at AT&T over the past decade....
If you have an alternative cable company I would suggest that you call retention and tell them you are cancelling ALL services because they cannot offer you a reasonable everyday price. After you request they cancel your account, make sure to get the first name of the operator, and their operator ID number as well. Also get the work order number for the cancellation of your account. Do not take no for an answer, you will need this info if they do NOT perform the cancellation the first time....I would recommend that after cancelling you wait several days and call back to make sure they have actually put the cancellation order through. If not tell the rep you will be taking the matter to arbitration and the BBB.

Tis sad but true. They do not care. I defie anyone to find a place on the internet or at the phone center where you can talk to somebody and tell them about how they treat their own customers unfairly. Nope not a spot for that. But you can order a new service! I thought Comcast was the worst and then I got ATT. The real kicker is if their employee punches a key that says you ordered a new service or upgraded an existing one and it is for a year, they will not prove that you did it without a lawyer serving them papers! That's Loyalty. Guess what, you owe them that money for the full year or you pay them a big penalty fee.
By the way, call the call center and tell the computer that understands complete sentences that you want to talk to a representative and you can feel just like the guy in the tv commercial "REPRESENTATIVE".
