Automatice Renewal - Frustrated and cancelled

So I pay for Uverse TV/Internet for my mother (80 y/o in Florida), she's not picky and likes local channels, gameshow network and ESPN for football.  She's on a fixed income and every penny counts, so her 2 year contract expired and the rates went from $80 to $150, since there's no way to extend the bundled rate I planned to cancel and just go to another cable provider.  For some reason when she moved in Aug after my dad passed, the internet extended to Aug 2020.  I have no idea how this happened, so just beware.  I cancelled service anyway for both and will fight the termination fee, I never agreed to any extension beyond the original 24 months.  Super frustrated with this situation,  and need to resolve her TV/internet situation by Dec 10.  

 

Just beware, very unpleasant experience with the customer service.

Any time there's activity on an account (change plans, move service, etc.) it begins a new contract.  Sometimes 2 years, sometimes 1.  It's a shame that no one was informed of this.
