being cheated by AT&T

I have been with AT&T for more than 15 years as my cell phone carrier.
At the end of last year, I called AT&T to discuss my phone bill. After the discussion, the representative asked me about my TV and internet service. I was with a local service here in Michigan; was ok with the service for four years. The rep pushed hard to sell my AT&T’s TV/internet plan: $54/month; by switching, AT&T will send me $300 visa card for TV switch and $300 visa card for internet switch. I said it sounded too good to be true. Your rep said it is all true; and it is AT&T special offer to thank my loyalty. I would never imagine AT&T would cheat on me, such a loyal customer. I asked him, for TV, if it carries CNN and MSNBC, as they are the channels I watch all the time. The rep said of course. So, I said yes to the rep. And he scheduled the installation on Jan 10.
The technician, Steve, came on Jan 10. After the installation, he turned the TV and I asked him to make sure I have at least CNN and MSNBC. CNN and MSNBC were not included! Steve told me that the rep who sold me the package put me on a “family plan””level”, which does not have CNN and MSNBC. But when the rep sold me the deal, he did not ask me about the “level of the package”, and simply told me it included CNN and MSNBC. It turned out the rep did not care, as long as I sign up. I was very upset; Steve was very helpful to get on his iPad to discuss with AT&T sales team. After a lengthy chat, Steve adjusted the plan, so that I can be on a level which includes CNN and MSNBC. He told me that the price will go up; but because the rep did not explain clear to me, AT&T will offer $54/month for the first 6 month; and then the price will be $72/month from the second half of the first year. I agreed. So, life went on.
Then, I got a letter – Customer Service Summary from AT&T with a statement of my next bill will $161.89; and thereafter, $92.23 monthly. I was shocked, feeling being betrayed and cheated! I called AT&T customer service, on Jan 22/2018 around 7:15 pm. The representative, Julio, simply told me AT&T doesn’t have the $54/month plan. He told me he took notes and escalate the issue, and told me that someone higher up than him will call me to address the issue.
No one from AT& T called me. Then I got another Customer Service Summary from AT&T, telling me my next bill will be $202.89 ($114.17 for internet and TV; $88.72 for my mobile phone; thereafter, monthly bill will be $202.89 ($114.17 for internet and TV; $88.72 for mobile phone).
Still nobody from AT&T called me. Then, I got a bill from AT&T, showing total due $207.46: TV $141.51; intenet $40; (Internet and TV together $151.51); wireless $25.95.
I am outrages!!! The charge from $54 the rep sold to me, to $72, to $92.23; to $114; to $151.51!!! before I even finish the 1st month of your TV and internet service!!!!
I called again AT&T again on Jan 30, 2018. The rep basically told me that there is just nothing she can do; there is no such $54/month plan in AT&T!!!
How can AT&T treat one of your loyal customers of more than 15 years like this?! Does AT&T really this desperate to make money from cheating on your loyal customer?! It is so unnecessary!!!
I ask AT&T leadership gave a full review of this matter. First, I demand an apology from AT&T; second, I demand AT&T do your best to honor the original price that the rep who originally sold the “package” to me. It seems that this rep obviously mis-represented AT&T, he should be disciplined; and AT&T should make it clear to its sales team, never cheat on people! AT&T is not just there for one day, one month, one year; I would think AT&T wants to be here for a long haul?!

Good luck with AT&T.  They will keep raising the price until you can no longer afford it.  That is what they did to me.  I tried for 2 months to talk to someone about my bill. I called about 3 or 4 times with no deal.  I email customer care and they did not even get in touch with me.  My bill went up from 175.00 to 250.00 per month.  I finally changed to Charter Spectrum and I received a deal for 167.00 per month for 2 years with no contract.  For that I got a app that works on your computer, TV and Tablet.  They have there app on Roku and Samsung TV.  I also am now getting all the sub channels and internet at 100MG and they have started offering 400MG for only 20 dollars more.  So do not expect much from AT&T.  I am now a happy former customer.  Even when my promo runs out in two years the regular rate is on 197.00 per month.
