Can you share your luck with retentions lately?
I called today and had no luck. I'm coming off my 1 year promo and bill will go up 50.00. I can't afford that but they won't budge.
I'll be leaving and going with another company even though it's a bit of a hassle.
Anyone have better luck with retentions?

Yep, gather adds from DirecTV, Dish, your local Cable company, etc. for both TV and Internet (or whatever services you have now) and call armed with their offers and see what they will do. If they still won't budge cancel.

Thanks. I guess I was more curious what luck others had when calling retentions? If retentions tried to keep them on and what kind of deal they were able to get and how close to the promo price they were able to get without losing anything.
Funny how they don't seem too sad to lose you if you want to cancel.

Kept calling. Finally got it renewed for another year for 9.00 higher. I'll deal with the extra 9.00 just so I don't have to mess with changing services. I was on the brink of going to Direct TV and even placed an order yesterday for it.
Funny how if you keep calling and speak to the different reps, they all quote you different prices to get you to stay. I got anywhere from 50.00 increase in current pricing down to 9.00 price increase so didn't chance placing anymore calls.

You betcha!! lol I got his name and ID and wrote down item by item detail price. I've been with AT&T for a year already so I know it's best to get as much proof as possible.
Is there a way they will waive the 49.00 install fee. Since I'm currently a customer, all they will do is replace equipment with new serial numbers. Can't I just disconnect old and replace with new equipment myself? Why do I need to pay someone 49.00 to do what I can do myself. It doesn't sound that tough.

If you're getting a DVR upgrade, there is a fee involved, possibly unless you go thru ATT Uverse Care. 😉

I called again and spoke to a customer service rep and got the free install and activation and again I wrote down the rep's name and badge number. I wrote everything down.
I am now aware of the price increases in beginning of year. I'll do like I did last year and call back in and talk to someone in retentions to get hopefully bill reduced.
