Customer Service Not Honoring Prom Price Offered !
I would appreciate someone from AT&T contact me regarding my recent experience with Customer Service representatives. After several years as a AT&T U-verse customer it almost feels as if AT&T would rather we take our business elsewhere.
My current U-verse promotion pricing is coming to an end, so I have called Customer Service three times to attain a new rate for a one year contract.
- I called Customer Service on 01-05-2016 and asked to have my current promotion extended for another year. The At&T representative told me my current promo was not available and said the best she could offer was $79.00 plus taxes and fees to keep my current services of Internet 24mps Max Turbo and Voice 250. I was unhappy with the increased cost and declined the offer.
- I called Customer Service on 01-06-2016 to ask about possible bundle options to continue my U-Verse service. I was again told that the best deal for my current U-Verse service of Internet Max Turbo and Voice 250 was $79.00 plus taxes and fees. Another option offered was to downgrade the internet speed to 18mps Max Plus and Voice250 for $69.00. I told the Customer Service representative I would need to speak to my wife and call back with a decision. I asked if I needed to call back to him directly to get this pricing, he assured me that the pricing and our conversation would be noted on my account and anyone I spoke with could take care of setting up the new contract at the offered pricing.
- I called again on 01-07-2015 and spoke with a Customer Representative about any new promos and about a new one year contract at the previously offered prices. I was told that she could not offer me the same pricing promo that I had been offered the previous two days. I asked to speak with her Manager (Kenneth *****). He told me that he could not offer the same pricing that I had been offered twice and also assured that it would be made available to me. He offered a credit to make up the difference, but I explained about the problems I had last year with promo pricing that disappeared and credits offered that where short of the extra costs. I asked him to honor the offers made of either the $79.00 Max Turbo package or the $69.00 Max Plus package.He declined to honor the offers! I don't trust what I am told anymore by your agents. I had a terrible experience last year with trying to secure a new one year contract. I am asking AT&T to honor what was offered, I wanted a monthly bill that was consistently the same each month, no credits, just honor what two of your agents have offered me. This again has become a painful process just to remain AT&T customers.

@Randydzz The day after your promo ends, call 1-800-288-2020 and after Mr. Voice Recoginition asks what you want, tell him CANCEL service. Should then be put to Retentions that can offer discounts to current customers.

Having similar problems with ATT. Customer service rep and I discussed certain price/discounts. I ordered changed service from 18 to 24 mbps speed. Bill comes and price charges are well in excess of agreed upon price. My one year of discounts not applied to bill. Several phone calls to customer service. A few hours of my life gone waiting for ATT and still totally unsatisfied. This company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. I would rather fly on a major US airline to meet with and deal with my homeowners insurance adjuster to file a claim than deal with ATT customer service.

I called Retentions the day after my promo ended to secure a new price plan. They only offered what was offered originally when I called two weeks ago, $15.00 off Internet and $5.00 off phone. It seems to me that they are not offering larger discounts without adding U-Verse TV or Direct TV. I have not had cable TV for over 25 years and am completely happy without it !
Also, I never was contacted by a Customer Care Rep after I contacted them several days ago ?

@Randydzz Was afraid of that, getting reports of Retentions only pushing upselling then discounting that.
