Damage from AT&T installing cable line in my yard
I am out of town and just received video from my neighbors showing huge equipment parked in my front yard on top of my sprinkler system heads, shrubs, mulch, etc. My front yard is destroyed. My neighbors asked who the workers were and they responded that they work for AT &T and were installing a cable line. I am not a customer of this internet provider and am outraged to not have been given any prior notice that this was taking place. I understand that utility companies have the right of way to certain easements. However, they must repair any damage they cause. I need a contact in Columbia, SC to discuss repairing the significant damage caused by AT&T

That is not necessarily true if the damage structures were located in an easement. Also, no prior notice is needed for a utility company to perform work in an easement, and a homeowner cannot block access to an easement.
You can send a PM to AT&T Customer Care and someone will contact you about this issue.

How about common decency and letting the homeowner know when you are coming and what you are doing ahead of time? Our neighborhood has dealt with dogs let out of yards, children scared by ATT workers just coming into their back yards, damage to property NOT in the easement, workers ASLEEP in homeowners' back yards. ALL of this was done with no heads up. I know it isn't required, but common SENSE, would tell you that a courtesy contact ahead of time is absolutely necessary....I don't care what is or isn't required, when you just walk into someone's gated back yard and let animals out and scare children, that is NOT RIGHT. This is DISGRACEFUL.

I can tell you that this is poor business and a complete lack of thought for the people who live in these homes. Who thought this was a good PR move by ATT????I assure you, that they are laying these cables in my neighborhood for NO REASON, because NO ONE will be getting their services. Way to alienate customers, ATT, your'e going to mess around and get a LOT of people angry and boycott you. I WILL go to the local news with this.

I am in Missouri and had a similar experience this weekend. They left the easement and walked the cable well into my property line. It isn't yet buried, but I work from home and the only reason I didn't catch them in the act is because they did this before 7am on a Saturday. I'm tempted to cut the line that is routed into the property line but am trying to give AT&T the chance to come back out and correct the line route on Monday. I've also contacted the city to complain. [Per Guidelines: Keep it Relevant and Appropriate].
