Did AT&T have a representative knocking on doors in my neighborhood Friday September 8,2017

This Friday September 8,2017 there was a female that was claiming to be an ATT representative that informed me that I was paying too much for my ATT bill. I would like to see what my options would be to reduce the price I am paying for your service. I also would like to remove the land line I have because I do not use it nor do I need it. I also had some questions about the representative that came to my home.
