Fraud

My x opened a uverse account in my name without my permission. The sales person should have not allowed it but did. That's where the fraud comes into play. She lives in Georgia, I live in California. I get a collection call because she never paid the bill and did not return the equipment. The bill eventually got paid and she sends the equipment back. I get another collection call and I provide att with a tracking number and was told everything was good. Today the account was sent to the credit agency and when I called they said she sent it back too late and there is nothing they can do. So now I have to pay for equipment that I will not even own to rectify the situation. I have been with this company for 18 years now and have now lost a customer that would have been for life.

Why have I had to constantly argue with ATT about charges I was told I wouldn't have.  This has been a constant problem for four years now and it's time to file a complaint with the FCC. I don't care how many billions of dollars ATT makes, I refuse to be bullied into paying for something I was told I wouldn't be charged for when I took the Uverse internet service.  I'll also be checking on alternatives such as cable.  In addition, when I had dial-up I had 10mbs speed and with my complaining they bumped me down to 6mbs.  FCC will hear about that as well, in addition to my state consumer fraud department.

Does AT&T have the evidence of the fraud?  Court documents?  Police reports?

i called on Tuesday to cancel my free HBO when the lady at ATT said why dont you get our internet which will be 75mbs for only $30 a month lasting 2 years. Since i had time warner 100mbs for $60 a month this seemed a good price for slightly lower speed. The install was set up a few days later and the ATT internet guy shows up, drills holes and puts on the internet. Thats great i thought until i checked the service bill i had online. I had been given 6mbs for $30 a month which clearly was not what i was offered. When i called to ask whats going on, i was told that the original caller had given you misinformation and that plan doesnt exist. I had to cancel the internet and reinstate time warner again the same day. Seems like a classic bait and switch to me except all they did was waste my time and drill holes that are not needed!

What really grated me was the original call was to cancel HBO and they had no record of it !!! of course! lucky i checked that little detail...

This is not the first time i have had problems with ATT and i can honestly say i will NEVER deal with them again in any capacity. Beware people!
