Have I made a mistake going with U-verse?
Had U-verse installed on Monday and have been pleased with the service so far. Got Internet, U-verse TV and phone. I came here though and see a lot of complaints. Concerned about the posts about AT&T phasing out U-verse for Direct TV and also about the rewards cards being a scam. Have I made a big mistake choosing U-verse? Very concerned.

It's a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of customers U-verse has.

You are going to change companies they will throw the contract in your face. As bad as Comcast is I am going back.

Be sure to mark yesterday's date on your calendar to contact AT&T the month before when you renew. My bill jumped from $90 to $180 for the same thing. I called and no one could explain the new fees for me. Even the taxes/fees/surcharges doubled! Taxes I understand but the others are AT&T fees. Like all cable companies, they are interested in NEW customers and do very little to retain their current customers. Netflix and Prime will be my choice when my contract is up. That's another thing with AT&T, it's a one-way contract. They can change it every couple of months but you can't. Enjoy this year then switch.

Rewards card is NOT a scam as I got one. The first year is great with AT&T.....then look out.

Remember, in forums like this you will always see alot of negative posts. People who come here are having problems w/ATT or services and there are those of us trying to help users.
If you're getting any rewards, after about 30 days after install, go here:
https://rewardcenter.att.com/
Redeem your rewards and will see when they should ship. Beware reward cards will expire in about 2 months. If you want to keep the $$ longer, can get a visa gift card w/the reward card and no quick expiration.
We use ATT Customer Care and Uverse Care here for 1st line CS/TS.
