Horrible Customer Service

Why is it that regardless of whom you speak with at ATT customer service you can never get the same answer.  It seems to me that they are taught to lie just to get you off the phone.  Has anyone else experienced really poor customer service?

Sure, and not just from AT&T. Any U.S. company that enlists an overseas agency as its primary customer service contact has this problem to some degree. AT&T has taken heat for it's overseas support for years, with long-running diatribes on which country's groups are worse. When I was with the company, I certainly never went a week without someone at least mentioning the difficulties of phone support. But the reality is that U.S based support costs more, which would mean our products and services would cost more. This is especially true for a very large company with nationwide reach and a large amount of products and services to support in a uniform manner. But having said that, I avoid phone or chat support as much as possible, preferring to look to this community for help.
