How to Get an Engineer to Show Up When the neighbor 2 Doors Down Has Uverse & You Can't Have It?
So my neighbor 2 doors down has Uverse yet ATT says our address is not eligible. I have been going back and forth with nobodies that live in every country but America that could care less and know nothing other than how to search computers.
Where are the real physical human beings that drive the ATT trucks to dig the line. We live in a golf course comunity [with NO restrictions] and have plenty of people that could benefit from a hard line with better speed than the satelite options we currently have. Everyone would be more than happy to pay the price for a dig. We need logical business men that can step aside from their ATT game of monopoly and realize that even though ATT is wealthy, with the angle they have on the market, they should consider sending out humans to dig dig dig ... not type type type.
Their response to multiple tickets being open "we're sorry we are unable to do anything for you whatsoever, good luck trying to get help at a future date,... sincerely, could care less from India, Mr. Nameless, John Doe."

@wpfranks Go here and initiate an address validation check:

Good luck 😉

They ran the AT&T U-Verse cable a year and a half ago and still to this day they say oh Im so sorry that U-Verse in not available at your address. Why would AT&T spend the money to lay the cable then never offer the service sounds like a pretty stupid idea if you ask me.

Your problem may be in the way the original telephone plant was laid out many years ago. It grows out from the CO like the trunk of a tree, spliting it to branches, and smaller branches, and twigs and leaves. The fiber that runs through your yard is going to provide service to branches further out of the tree from you; for you to get service they have to put a VRAD further up line from you, and they may not feel that there are enough homes around you to justify the expense of building that VRAD.

Yes I know that they have to add that, but they knew that no homes were going to be built around my home because the last house that was built was over 20 years ago. Yet they still spend the money to run the cable. They ran the cable 6 miles outside of the town with homes all along the road. AT&T said they need at least 300 people to sign up before they will "turn on the service." If they would actually send a rep out to go door to door and ask if they would like U-Verse everyone would say yes, but since they ran the cable that hasn't happend. There is more than 300 people within that 6 miles that they ran that cable. Just seems like they are being really lazy about adding more people to the network. Yes it cost money but they could have many more customers to pay that expense if they would actually try to get people.

Maybe that fiber wasn't meant for U-verse service at all. Maybe it goes to a Cell Phone tower?

Nope it was U-Verse thats what all the people from the 8 AT&T trucks said it was for. The tower is right next to the highway and that is THE ONLY TOWER in the area so No it wasn't.

They strung the fibre from the CO to the crossbox/VRAD here for mine, more than a couple miles from here, everyone along the route could not get Uverse, only those close enough to a VRAD. 😉

I just don't understand why they would spend all the money to install all of the equipment, but then never try to get customers to pay for putting it in. Just sounds like a waste of money unless they get customers to pay off what they had to pay for.

Customers do pay for it over the service years they pay for it.

Yes i know thats why i said that so i dont know why you would comment saying what i already put. If AT&T is going to spend the money to not get customers they are going to lose even more just like how they will lose a ton because they are being sued by the FTC for throttling unlimited data. Why doesn't AT&T just screw up some more and get everyone to switch providers.

They lobbied(bribed) congress for tax writeoffs during Clinton to roll out high speed internet, but didn't really do it back then.
Maybe this time congress made them actually use the money for infrastructure, but without real competition in many places, they just spend the money on random projects that don't really come to fruition. Bridge to nowhere?
