Is this a quality install job?

IMG_0261.jpgIMG_0264.jpgIMG_0267.jpg

This is the work they left me after uverse had to be redone due to outdated equipment going bad. This is on 3 walls of the room. I have had another tech come out to be told he would do it the same way. How many people would say this is a good job and how many would say come get this equipment. I have had this company for 20 years but if this is ok work I am leaning on changing. I have another tech coming in tommorrow to try and fix this wrong. The install guy brought old coax from original install in and threw on table and said here is your problem and walked off and left it on my dining room table. One phone line run would fix the whole mess or fish coax and ethernet cable but I shouldnt pay you to install again because the equipment went out and is outdated. If you wouldn't have this in your house don't leave it in mine. Thanks for any comments

Hi @bks37seahawks

I agree it doesn't look nice, but I don't think installers run cables through walls, or if they do there is a separate charge. You said someone was coming to fix it, was it fixed?

Thanks,

Dmitriy

It works but I paid for install and equipment failed. I shouldn't have to pay to reinstall where it failed. I ended up doing it myself because of lack of care from AT&T. I have had them for over 20 years but that doesn't matter and for first time in 20 yrs switching all of my services to another company seems like an option due to this.

Most video/Internet service companies' installers will run wires along baseboards and/or drill holes through walls rather than fish through the walls without charging a fee.  If you want a professional looking job, i.e. fished cables, then you normally either (a) have to do it yourself, (b) hire an outside contractor, or (c) pay extra for the installation (which isn't always an option, due to either the lack of skill and/or equipment or due to time constraints and the number of installations they have to do).

No, I wouldn't leave my install like that either, but if you expect Comcast, Charter or TWC to do anything different (at least not without an additional fee above standard installation), I'm afraid your expectations are incorrect.

The first At&t guy said it was a horrible install from the start and said he would fish the wire but it was on a sunday so I said try the old modem he had on truck and come back during week when he was working. I figured he would be sent back but guy I got left the mess in the pictures. I have called and was told they were coming out between 4 & 8 so I waited at house and no call no show. I called AT&T and talked to someone and never even got the return phone call about it that I was promised. I think people are missing the point of I paid for the wires to be installed first time but equipment failed and new equipment has more wires. Why should I pay for it to be run again when it was not my equipment that failed. All that would be needed to fix all of it would be one phone line run on inside wall. I just feel as if 20 years of loyal service deserves better than this.
