Losing a customer

so I have had AT&T since they took over cell one back in 2004 then I figure I get the internet with AT&T in 2009 I've really never had a problem until now when I called att today to try and get my internet bill lowered they told the best that they can do is 32 to a month and well unfortunately that's to high compared to time warner cable. The guy was going door to door and just offer me the same speed a lot cheaper then att and that they will not charge for the install or equipment. And this just makes me upset that att will not compete with them so now after this month is over I be canceling my service and once the two new iPhone 6's I just got are payed off I will be switching them also.

Get the time warner prices in writing. All door to door sales people will tell you anything to make a sale. Better yet, go online to twc and get pricing there. Watch the fine print. Your rates will go up later with twc just like att. I am not saying you cannot get a better deal from twc. Just be informed.

Time warner cable is 2mbps for 14.99 or 3mbps for 29.99 and with att I'm paying 47.00 for 3mbps. When I talked to att they the best they can do is 32.00. I just don't understand why they can't come close to time warner pricing.

$24 a year is too much more? AT&T service is more reliable than TWC in my experience, and if your TWC ever goes out, be prepared to wait a week

Well 24 bucks a year can add up to be a lot so let's take to 2 bucks extra a month times that by 12 and you get the 24 bucks ok so now let's take that 24 bucks and times that by 2 makes 48 bucks in two years ok so now let's times that by like five years that's 120 bucks. I could also say what I can do with to extra bucks in my pocket can do. But my point is I'm not trying to be rude about this or anything I just would like to see att compete with pricing. I don't think it's fair to anyone to be paying more than they should be that's all I'm trying to say here.

TW doesn't offer 3Mbps.

I thought U-Verse discontinued their 3Mbps a couple years ago, but maybe that was a slower speed?

But, as said, make sure you get that TW offer in writing...on official documention, not handwriting on a 3x5 card.

I think 3mbps is the 2mbps with Maxx. I'm not trying to be rude either but it would take me 9 years to equal less than one month of AT&T bills. The Pro plan is still an option, @baseballisback

I'm sorry it was 6mbps for 29.99 not 3mbps for 29.99 now I feel it a donkey's rear end lol

Now THAT makes more sense. In my experience, TW is slower in the evenings and T is always solid. It's just a matter of preference, but I would go with TW even though they broke my TV and internet for a week, and during that week we got U-verse installed before TW fixed it. Food for thought.

Both offers are 12 month offers. You can't predict whether either company will have any promotions after the 12 months period expires, so extrapolating 2 or 5 years worth of savings is just lying to yourself.

Also,  TW requires a different modem. Do you already own a cable modem, or will you need to purchase or rent one from them? That's an additional cost you're not including in your calculations.
