My $100 at&t reward card does not work at all

I activated the card and used it at a gas station and at a market.

 

It has declined all the time...What should I do?

Did you make sure you used it as a credit card, not a debit card?  Not expired, is it?

 

This from Rewards Center  FAQ:

 

You may use your AT&T Visa® Reward Card* for purchases anywhere Visa® cards are accepted.

I used it as a debit card and put 4 digit PIN number. 

 

Should I used it as a credit card?

I have $200 card & have tried using it several times both debit & credit. It still declined. I called customer service and they were incompetent about the situation. Finally, spoke with a supervisor and was told something was wrong with the cards and should be resolved by 3/30/16. I got a call today (3/30/16) saying the issue was resolved and all I needed to do was reset the pin. I did that after work & tried using the card again. Card declined again. Called customer service again & nothing. Supervisor doesn't know what's going on and can't tell me anything until they speak with the bank, which of course is already closed. I've talked to customer service a total of 7 times. I asked for a corporate number and was given the wrong number. Called back to get a correct number and was on hold for 30 minutes before the call hung up. I took a screen shot of the call time. I'm definitely looking into who I can call about this whether it be Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs or whomever I need to contact to file a case against AT&T and this rewards program.

They can only be used for credit and have to wonder if your debit attempt locked up your card, since no pin is involved.  To activate, you need the last 4 of your acct #, that's not a Pin.  Not at all sure whay they had you reset the Pin. Smiley Surprised

I've tried using my rewards card it's is declined. I've tried it as a debit and credit. When I called to activate it I was made to set a pin # and told it is to be used like a debit.

I activated both my $100 card and my $200 card but needing to know which one was which, I hit live chat and that was a very slow process but she helped me with that problem but during the course of finding out which card was which for which amount, she said my card was not activated.  I said I did activate both of them.  She said wait an hour then try again.  I'm not getting my hopes up.  Seem like AT&T has been having issues ever since they started the promotional compaign.  Any help would be appreciated.  What worked for others. Please share.

I have 2 useless cards, one $75 and one $250. Both activated and used as credit. $75 one was initially accepted by Amazon, but next day was alerted the payment was rejected and I had to use another form of payment. Attempted to use the $250 one at Walmart point of sale choosing credit option. Card rejected. Tried same card at HEB point of sale using credit option. Again rejected. "Rewards" you can't actually use are not rewards. This is really bad business. SMH
