New Construction in our Neighborhood

New fiber is being placed in our neighborhood.  How much lead time will we get to move things from the easement?  How do we know when they will be destroying our yard?

I would like the opportunity to be proactive and not reactive, so who can I call.

As a general rule, ATT does not announce future expantion plans except thru this e-mail notification site: http://www.att.com/u-verse/notify-me/

Now, if you are nice to the line techs installing the lines, and presumably, new equipment, they might (or might not..  as in they might actually have no clue beyond the work order they are presantly working on) be able to give you a general idea.

Easements are a tricky thing... the plus side is, once they get the fiber in place, and bury it, for the most part (unless they insall a pedistal or something like that) you pretty much can't tell they even buried anything there. (after they cover all the work, and the grass or whatever re-grows over where they worked.)

There may also be the liklyhood, the line is a feeder cable, and it's just being used to send the signal someplace else. They have to run somewhere, and that might be the case here.

Or it might be a trunk cable. One is used for sending signals over long distances, and the other is connected to the neighborhood distribution nodes, and i always get the proper names backwards. (or right, but think I'm wrong. Kind of like telling which identical twin is which.)

Anyways, I hope you are getting service, and you will be happy with the results whan and if they finally hook you up!

I am not interested in u-Verse service at this time so the link provided does not help me much.

Crews are actively working in our neighborhood.  I need to be proactive and move a structure from the easement if they plan to work in my yard.  It may take me a day(s) to move the structure

I will see if I can communicate with a foreman or technician who is in the neighborhood.

Thanks for that suggestion.

No problem. I misunderstood.

So many folks are wanting ATT service, and I simply read that into your post.  My bad.
