Nightmare Billing Error
I signed up for a new plan in November. I printed a copy of the transcript just in case of error.
AT&T sent me a confirmation email describing the terms of the new plan, I was to receive numerous loyalty discounts.
When AT&T sent the first bill, it was over $81 higher than promised and substantially tiger than what I had been paying the last two years. It has been a nightmare trying to correct the billing error. Every time I contacted AT&T, they wasted my time for hours and just kept saying they could not find any notation on the account about the new plan. I keep telling the representative I am staring at the documents right now. They have no way to email them to anyone to review. They told me to take them to an AT&T store and I did. I received a credit for one month. Then the bill went up again. AT&T has wasted my tine for hours. No one is willing to help me. The AT&T store just told they have done all they can do and they are a franchise store so they are not responsible. That is all there are around here - franchise stores.
The whole thing has been a nightmare. AT&T is unwilling to honor its contracts. It is idiotic that they just keep telling me they cannot find the order. I have wasted at least a dozen hours of my valuable time and they still want to charge me the higher rate. I have all the documents and they are even certified under oath. No one is willing to read them. Stay away from AT&T.

I don't understand what kind of chat transcript and/or email could possibly be "certified under oath."
AT&T locks down their systems so that they will only allow accounts to be set up in accordance with the company policy. Sales people cannot make special arrangements. Support people cannot set up your account to what the sales person promised if that promise was outside the company policy. What AT&T hasn't done is kept the sales people from misrepresenting policy and what they can do for you. I think you've fallen into this pit.

Certified under oath means that I am certifying the authenticity of the documents. They are faithful representations of the chat transcript and the confirmation email and have not been altered. The confirmation cam email from AT&T not the sales agent. It says AT&T customer care summary and describes the new plan. It is approximately what I have been paying. When I presented the documents, I was told AT&T could offer me those discounts. In any event, that is not the law. AT&T uses agents are bound by their representations whether AT&T want to honor the contract or not. It is legally enforceable AT&T policy notwithstanding. It already admitted its error last month when it gave me the credit. That would be very damaging in court.
