No Retention Here
Last year at this time comcast raised my price to 184.00 a month for internet and tv. I said no way ,I have had it with stupid pricing.after 24 years of service they would not cut me a deal. So i seen att had a good promotion going for 121.00 a month for better service. So i made the jump to att. The first 2 weeks was terrible. I had to have them come back 7 times in 2 weeks or so. Anyway the finally fixed the problem and have been ok with there service ever since.Well my year is up so i called to see what they could do to keep me as a customer. They offered me 0. All they wanted me to do was downgrade my service to reduce the cost. Now comcast has a 2 year promo going for 120 a month . I explained to them what comcast would offer and they said im sorry but you were on a promo and they could not do anything without reducing what i had. I told them the next time you here from me is when my new comcast is installed, which will monday march 30 to cancel. Im sorry is all i got from them. I will no longer be loyal to any company.Who ever has the best price gets my buisness, Probably be back in 2 years att when my comcast contract expires

There seems to be a lot more trouble switching more than once, than paying a little more. Is there not a third option that could be better? Performance and good customer service is worth more than the price.

I have a friend that has Uverse for a year, the Time Warner Cable for a year, then Dish, then DirecTV, and the cycle repeats. His house has wires everywhere on the outside and 2 dishs on the roof!!

I just posted a similar complaint and I'll observe the back and forth between providers is stupid. I've had to negotiate each year wit AT&T to retain a sensible price for a number of years, but I just got off the phone with one of their customer service reps and it looks like I'm heading towards TWC - assuming I go, I'll be there until I can't negotiate a reasonable price again.
The only positive outlook on the horizon - I'm in Charlotte, NC and we are on the Google fiber list - I'm fingers crossed waiting for the day when AT&T and TWC have real competition in this market. (And if things don't improve drastically, I'm guessing that means goodbye to both of them.)

For some reason it double-posted me - deleting the second (redundant version).

I, too, have a friend who just goes back and forth like that between TWC and U-verse.
