Package Comparisons

There does not seem to be the U series of packages...the new packages are called choice, ultimate, premier, ultra.....so can anyone tell me which is equivalent to U300 or are they all completely different now?

HERE   are the Uverse levels and the channels.  They are not selling NEW Uverse accounts but I guess you can upgrade or downgrade.

The ones you mention are DirecTV package levels. HERE  is a listing of the channels available on each of the DirecTV levels.

No, definitely not.  I have Uverse U300...have had for about 6 years, so know it is a package today....just not sure it is a package going forward and thus my question.  I'm trying to decide on what I am going to do when ATT does away with Uverse as an option, which is soon and tries to force consumers to go to ATT streaming, which I do not want to do.

Ehhhh....they've been threatening to "do away" with Uverse since they bought DirecTV.

It's true that they are not SELLING Uverse anymore but there has been no talk of them REMOVING Uverse.  I guess time will tell.

"....there have been a few news reports saying that AT&T is ‘shutting down’ U-verse. However, that is not the case. U-verse still has four million subscribers and AT&T certainly doesn’t want to pull the plug on so many customers at the same time."

Hello, @mcd111

We are happy to help you with your package questions.

@skeeterintexas is correct with the information, the U series are only for Uverse TV packages which are no longer offered to new customers; AT&T TV is the new service being offered and is streaming based.  The packages you listed out, Choice, Ultimate, Premier, are DIRECTV packages.

You can check the channels in your U300 package specifically by logging in to your account and selecting TV > View Channel Line Up.

If you are interested in changing to DIRECTV Services in the future, you can compare your current line up to the current DIRECTV channel line up to find one that is comparable.

Our best tip is to mark down channels that are most important in your current package and look for a DIRECTV package that has all of them.

Let us know if this answered your questions,

When my son in law called to renegotiate his Uverse, he was told the only option going forward is ATT Live or whatever the other ATT streaming service is...he was told that their plan is eventually to have all streaming, including direct tv.

Thanks, but as I said, I dont want to switch to Direct TV....I tried several years ago, but when they came out the dish could not be located on the side of my yard due to blockage and they wanted to put it in my back yard and charge me $175 to install, so I just renewed with Uverse.  I am just trying to figure out what I am going to do when my current package expires in October.  The come ons for streaming look real attractive until you see the second year rate which is usually double the first year.   I am considering Xfinity as they are wired to my home (both were installed by the builder when we built) and they have been in my neighborhood a few months ago with some really nice package offers.  Been with ATT for a very long time and dont get why ATT would risk losing more paying customers like me who are older and just dont want to go through all the pain.  But, just because we are older does not mean we will pay through the nose.  I can learn a new system if I have to.  Thanks for your response.

Not surprised.  But that's been going on since the DirecTV acquisition, too.  The reps are highly incentivized to sell the hot new thing.  They get no brownie points for upgrading you inside U-verse.  So they'll tell you they have to move you, when they don't.

Now, to give you any kind of discount, they probably do have to move you... for the same reasons... that's where the customer incentives are too.

@mcd111.

Sorry about the trouble these changes have caused.

Thanks to @skeeterintexas and @JefferMC for the help.

As they said, U-verse TV is being phased into streaming, so many of the old offers may no longer be available. Let us know if there is anything else you needed help with!
