Promotions for existing customers

Why are promotions for existing customers so limited? I have been a uverse customer and ATT wireless customer for years. My current uverse promotion has expired and to renew to a new promotion is outrageous and very limited options. I am at the point now where I have no choice but to cancel service and check other options because ATT has made uverse unaffordable.

Have you spoken to customer retention? They are offering some special pricing. It is not as much as in the past but it is worth a call. It helps to have pricing for competitors in your area. If you call and are told nothing is available call again. You will eventually get someone willing to help.

Good Luck!

I'm in the same boat. I've spoken to retention a few times and I'm not getting anywhere. Very disappointing...

I PM'd Customer Care, but not sure how long it will take for them to get back to me 😕

Comcast is much faster and the regular rates are much cheaper than ATT...ATT has lost touch with it's

customer base. Comcast is stealing their customers everyday...ATT buying Direct TV as a bad mistake, they should have bought Dish network

I was traveling last year to a GM plant in Michigan and stayed at a fully furnished condo. The tv and internet was Comcast. What a great package, internet was 75Mbs and tv package had over 200 channels with DVR for two TVs.  $119 a month with self install package.

Actually, it's the same way with any company I've been with. When I had Charter cable, they gave the deals to new customers, so did Comcast,  the old DirectTV, and now AT&T. It's the way of doing business for most companies.  A relative of mine got a great retention deal from Uverse for adding a second phone line. He never plugged in a phone or even knew the number but it saved him $50 a month on his Uverse bill....go figure.

I agree with the others, it's a shame that ATT will not offer existing customers a better and decent promotion price to continue or extend their services.  We have to be satisfied with the services that we have received to want to continue to do business with them.  My bundle contract for U-verse, U200 TV and internet has expired.  I have another year left on my phone contract.  Since my TV and internet has expired, I called and tried to get the TV and internet as a new customer and they would not allow it.  I still have service at their price.  I received my bill today and they had increased my bill for $50 more dollars.   I have been a good customer for 4 or 5 years.  They wanted to offer me direct TV.  I have spoken with people that don't like direct TV.  If they are having problems I certainly don't want the service.  I will probably end up going to another provider.  The price that ATT is outrageous.  I am on a fixed income and can not afford it.  They should have a senior rate.  I love ATT's services and products but the prices they offer existing customer is ridiculous.

I canceled Uverse internet, that was 24Mb for $69 a month. It also had a data cap of 1 Tb and $10 for additional 50Gb up to $100.
I got Spectrum internet with no contract, free install, with FREE gateway, zero data cap with 60Mb download speed for $49 a month including taxes.

Last week AT&T emailed an offer of $30 for 50Mb.  I would have to sign a contract, pay activation fee of $35.00 and pay $10 a month for gateway and have a 1 Tb cap.

I told them no...but AT&T is trying to buy Time/Warner cable for $85 billion.

Direct TV is horrible....even now that att has it. You're better off going to a competitor. I am. Att doesn't care about existing customers.

Just went through this myself to be denied.  I will say that I agree with several comments here about the relative performance of Xfinity internet as compared to ATT copper.  The former is head and shoulders above the latter.  However there are some things holding me back from moving such as the 1TB cap Comcast has.  I refuse to pay extra for unlimited data.

Congratulations.  Enjoy your service.  And you felt the need to come on to the competitor's site and scream this, why?

because I am still a AT&T customer...I have wireless phone service...which is over priced...two smart phones and one regular, with 6 GBs with rollover for $130a month.  I do get a 19% discount because I am a Bechtel employee.

you would think att u-verse would try to take care of us older customers. Seems like we are there cash cows. Been with them 4-5 years.Talked to them several times without any luck on a promotion.

Uverse would not give me a discount so I also switched to Spectrum because I could no longer afford AT&T.  The internet is also faster then AT&T.

That in incorrect.  Spectrum has bought Time Warner Cable.  ATT is buying their programming services like HBO.
