Questions Regarding Installation of Fiber to Home

We live on a private street located off of an existing neighborhood that is currently receiving AT&T fiber to the home installations.  Our private street has recently been approached by AT&T asking fi we want fiber to the home installed.  The fiber woudl be be buried, there are no overhead poles.  My questions are:

1. Does AT&T shield the fiber they bury?  (we are determining if there is a better easement)

2. How deep does the fiber get buried?

3. Normally, does AT&T follow the existing right of way used by the traditional copper lines?

4. Is the fiber "pre-spliced and cut" before construction begins? (we read a blog post from Eric Small)

Thanks!
