Ready to complain to the Better Business Bureau...
In February of this year, we switched back to U-verse from DirecTV. Because our DTV didn't work properly, the early termination fee was supposed to be waived. However, every single month our bill is hundreds of dollars more than it should be. Every single month I have to call and talk to several different departments. And every single month they tell me the problem has been fixed.
Several times, we've been told that since our DTV account was terminated we would be sent a check to cover the extra amount. That hasn't happened. We were even told by a phone representative that the hundreds of dollars in fees is the amount we still owe on our DTV account, despite months of DTV bills showing that we in fact owe nothing.
It's been six months now, the past due amount is affecting our credit, and we're constantly being threatened with suspension of service if we don't pay the amount that we DO NOT owe.
It's quite disappointing; for years I have loved our U-verse bundle, and for years I have recommended U-verse to friends and family members. But at this point, we're ready to file a complaint with the BBB and switch to Spectrum. We'll probably spend months fighting THOSE early termination fees as well.

After one year with AT&T and many issues with loss of Tv during bad weather (I am in south Florida so it is very often) and a 50% raise in fees as my promotion expired, I called customer service to find a new promotion. I was advised that no promotion were available and threatened of early termination fees. I have a copy of my contract agreement sent by AT& T and NOWHERE had a stipulation of a two year TV contract. I asked to receive a copy of the agreement I signed and accepted the two year contract and received a copy of an order detail where the two year contract is mentioned. I NEVER received this order detail before or agree to this two year.
i was given different amount for late fees, once by the customer representative (130$) and while discussing for over an hour with this rep received an email indicating late fees of (260$). The rep told me to ignore this email generated by computer and incorrect. I also asked to talk to the legal department and was told that I had to write a letter and that no legal department was available by phone or email.
when my contract ends in a few weeks, in the event that I am charged early termination fees for a two year contract that I did not sign or agree to, I intend to contact the BBB to complain and receive help for arbitration
