Reward card scam

Judging from the posts, I am not the only one taken in.  There was supposed to be a $200 reward card for originally signing up.  It never arrived.  A phone call informed me that it took a couple of months to process....piffle.  A second call resulted in an apology for no card and by way of recompense, high (?) speed internet was offered as a sop.  Again no card!.  Called again and received another apology, a promise to correct the situation and...would I like to try the U300 service?  This was January....waited on the 300 channels, they never arrived...the card never arrived...if fact, nothing arrived.

Called again yesterday, went through a supervisor for whom English was not a native tongue.  Finally received the 300 channels only to find out I had been paying for them since January.  But, bright spot, the upgrade came with another reward card....which was never received.

Finally was referred, for the first time to the reward center and was informed...SORRY, time has elapsed, we sent you a letter.

How many others have been scammed by this crap?  It will make a great episode for Judge Judy.

We had the same experience. At the time we signed up for service, was told at end of 3 months would receive a $300 visa gift card in the mail. After 3 months, no card. Waited a couple of weeks & then called to inquire about the rewards card. Transfered to 4 different departments, on phone for 1.5 hrs & told an email was sent to the rewards department & they would contact me. Waited another week, no call. I call again, switch several times, last person told me we received an email about how to claim our reward. Looked through email inbox, no email received. Called rewards program to let them know we never received an email, and to please resend it. I was then told the reward had expired & we were sent a letter in the mail. When I asked when it expired, she would not give me a date. Spoke with her supervisor and then was transferred to 3 different people. 2 hours later, the last person we spoke with told us she would see what she could to and would call back. Naturally, no returned phone call. Very interesting that I was given one story by the sales person, the run around the first 2 times I called & then the third time I called I am informed that the rewards program had expired & it wasn't their fault that we didn't receive a letter. If the sales man had told us to expect a letter for how to claim our reward before the 3 months was up, I would have called earlier to ask where the letter was. Extremely frustrated with AT&T. I warned my husband not to sign up with them since all of my past experiences with them has been negative.

We bought two expensive phone and service on them last fall and signed up for DTV and were supposed to get a 200$ rewards card. It never showed up.  I called at least 4 times and each time was told that it was sent out and to wait longer.  It never got here and I kept calling.  We were in the process of moving and when we moved we forgot about the issue and today I was going through some papers and found the paperwork.  So I contacted customer service and was told the reward card had expired.  I NEVER RECEIVED ONE!!!!!   I kept explaining it to her and she kept coming back with the same canned answers.  I do think this is a scam and am going to contact my attorney generals office.  I also have a few lawyer buddies and will check into a class action lawsuit.  [Edited to comply with Guidelines]

I had the same issue! However, I'm not surprised with at&t. It's always 40 phone calls, 10 emails, 2 chat rooms, and a handful of managers promising a resolution! I was supposed to receive a 200 dollar restaurant gc for signing up for auto pay. It's been 8 months and they keep telling me to wait 30 days! Don't sign up for anything extra through them! Simply pay your bill until contract runs out and MOVE ON to someone more reliable!

AT&T is a scam! I called in to start a new service and mentioned the coupon that I received in the mail - free $350 VISA gift card with new service. When I set up the service I asked if it was eligible for that coupon - they said yes. I was told to give it to service tech so I did. I called AT&T to follow up and they said you will receive it after 30 days of service. After 50 days of service I called back and they said the VISA card was sent to me and I should receive it in less than 2 weeks. Still don't have it. So I called back today and now they are saying there is no record of the VISA rewards card. After the third phone call, I was finally able to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor told me they are unable to check status that I need to call the rebates center. She transferred me and magically the phone was disconnected again. I am so tired of AT&T and their TERRIBLE customer service. Just sent everything to my lawyer and asked him to look into it. I think this a scam and AT&T is responsible for it!

Now isn't that convenient for AT&T that your phone call gets disconnected when you are trying to get something that they owe you.Thats happened to me so many times dealing with them.

I have sent emails to every state and federal office I can and have had no luck. They are sorry as can be, they don't read the posts and if they do someone just gets paid to look at them and laugh. We are going to cancel our Direct tv. So we lose more money, oh well better than supporting a bunch of theives

WRONG!!!!

I went there and it doesn't work!!!!

I signed up for Directv I was told by "Mike" that I would be getting a $200.00 Visa Reward Card. After about 2 months, it dawned on me that I never received the card. I called Directv about and they sent me a link but stated I had to wait 2 weeks to click on it. I waited two weeks and when I clicked on it, all it said was "Server Happy". Yeah, I'll bet it was happy!!!! Nothing happened.

So I got on a Directv Chat session with a fellow named Nicolas, and he couldn't find anything on my account about it.

TOTAL FRAUD!!!!!

Who else has been a victim of Directv/ATT's fraudulent sales tactic's????

I'm so P-ssed off right now I'm about to cancel my Directv AND switch ALL of my cell devices to Verizon!!!!

NEED HELP?
