Service in Denver?

I keep hearing through the rumormill that U-verse is moving out to colorado, but I couldn't find anything. I just moved here from KC and had U-verse there and it worked out great. Comcast is the only one that has high speed internet and TV, which I sadly had to sign up for three days ago. Without going into detail, I've already been on the support line with them 3 times, and I haven't even moved into my apartment yet. The only other option I have is Century Link. The fastest internet they offer downtown is only advertised at 5mb, and they have a reputation for not living up to advertised speeds. So at what I'm assuming is realistically 3mb and they don't have any TV service, thats not really even a comparable option either.

Is there any truth to the rumors of U-verse coming this way?  It hasn't taken me very long to figure out that theres a lot of discontent in the market out here and a lot of people would switch to any provider that could offer decent internet and TV packages and even cared a little bit about their customers.

PS Sorry if this is the wrong section, newbie poster.

@swolerosis That's CenturyLink territory and ATT will not move in for Residential service; although they do provide Business service there.

Could get a CenturyLink/DirecTV bundle as Prism is not offered in Denver. 😉

I might be open to it if it was  comparable option, but the apartments downtown won't allow any sort of dish, and like i said about CenturyLink Internet, the highest that they provide is 5mb.

I don't see why they wouldn't move in just because there is a provider. KC had a bunch to choose from and they still have a market there.

They are in violation of federal regulation on not allowing dishes.

KC was a Residential area of ATT nee SW Bell all along, so of course they supplied Uverse there.

They'd have to come in w/no infrastructure at all and start right back from square one.  It would cost $billions to bring service into Denver in this situation.

That's why they put Uverse in their own service areas where all their infrastructure has been there a long time and they made it work. 😉

I know the costs are pretty high, but at least if they have business accounts here they're already in the city. You're probly right, but I hope they change their minds in the next 12 months.

Yeah, but the Business side is probably leasing local/long distance service from other providers.

Still wouldn't do you any good, it'd take close to 3-5 years b4 ATT could offer Uverse in a limited area at first, then expanding.

As an example, here at my VRAD, the fibre optic cable install replacing the copper trunk lines occured the late spring of 07.  Early summer of 07, 2 concrete pads laid for new VRAD and bringing down the crossbox off the pole next to the concrete pads.

A month or so later the cabinets were dropped on the pads, but electric power didn't arrive til late fall 07.  A month later, the linemen showed up to start wiring the new crossbox/VRAD all winter long under their propane heated tents.

Finishing the re-wiring the end of April 08.  I then got the OK for service the end of June 08, got installed July 15, 2d one in the VRAD.  This all occuring in little over a year w/the infrastructure already in place. 😉
