Should train people correctly to be upfront about rewards and not use as bait and switch
I finally decided to purchased an internet and TV bundle. I've been waiting for a good offer and finally found one online giving a $250 visa reward card. When installation day came the serviceman could not get a line of sight to use the satellite dish for DirecTV so we were offered Uverse. At that time I questioned the AT&T customer service person that I had to speak with via phone to approve the change if we still qualify for the $250 rewards he didn't think there would be a problem so I called back myself and was assured there wouldn't be a problem. I was skeptical so the following day I followed up and was told that there would be no problem and if I didn't get anything after 30 days to call them. The person on the phone told me he would make a notification on my account that we spoke and I do qualify for the $250 reward so that I definitely wouldn't have any problems should I have any issue. Well I got my reward card notification in a timely manner, followed the steps and it came in the mail shortly thereafter. Only to find out that it was only a $50 reward card. When I called to find out what happened I was told that it's because I did not go with DirecTV and I went with Uverse. The problem I feared and that I had already dealt with to make sure would not happen of course happened ....totally feels like a bait-and-switch to me. I did want to speak to a supervisor but I never did get to speak to one after being on hold for quite a while the service representative told me all they could do for me was give me $100 credit on my bill. I feel very tricked as I was concerned would happen from day one. I was also told that the only notification on my account about my prior conversations said that I "should " be able to get the same rewards but not any notes from the second person I spoke with saying I will get the $250. That was the main deciding factor on a finally deciding to switch our TV and internet services. I feel tricked since did question this more than once and someone should have told me you will absolutely not be getting the $250 rewards since you're going with Uverse and not DirecTV and let me decide if I wanted to continue with the installation or having this service I'm quite upset about this and I don't think att should be allowed to do such a bait and switch type of business to gain new customers.

a great price or here an offerr of the $250 reward card, can't give it to you (Directtv) and give you something else (uverse with a $50 reward card). I was enticed by the $250 reward that i signed up for online. I couldn't get DirecTV when the installer came then inquired more than once if I go with uverse will I still get the $250 reward but not one person told me you cannot get that. They either said it should be no problem or yes it's the same offer. I am happy with u verse just not happy that after inquiring if this would affect my reward no one was straight forward with me and I would have waited and started watching for uverse deals which prior to this was told it's not available in my area.
