Well, yes, there is 'new customer' pricing. About the best you can do is $10 off a month.

But what does put a chip lock on our account mean?

I was told that a chip lock is a lock put on by  upper managment  to prevent you from canceling  service then restarting it to get a better price which I was told to do by both the online people and the people at the att store . As the price for new customers is about $40 to $45 less then what I have been paying and I have never had a contract its time to go back to comcast as soon as I finish up a few things !

The 40 - 45 dollar price was with some upgrades .

MISTAKE! STICK WITH ATT, COMCAST IS THE WORST!
