Thoroughly annoyed
When we purchased our home last year my cousin moved with us and transferred his Uverse service here. He is moving and we have decided to continue w AT&T. I'm now questioning the decision. It took no less than 7 phone calls between the two of us to get an account set up in my name. Each time he would call to cancel his service, they'd want to talk to me and vice versa. They refused to cancel one and set up the other independently under the auspices of making sure there was "no interruption in service." Mind you, on each call I had to endure the up selling script and checking to see that I had the best discounts available. Not efficient for someone pressed for time and on their 4th call fir the same issue. Finally I spoke with a supervisor who overrode the system to set up my account without speaking to my cousin. Still that Saturday when he was calling to cancel, they insisted on speaking with me... To sure there was non interruption blah blah blah. Today is the day the technicians arrived - two lovely young men btw - only to find that the address that was verified on each of the 7 calls was WRONG! Because of technical requirements they could not install today and had to reschedule me for tomorrow. (By the way, the technician had me speak with a CS Rep who put me through the same %*@! Questions all to verify my address. Why was I answering questions about my cell phone data usage in the middle of trying to resolve an immediate technician issue?) Anyhow, not only did I take unnecessary time off today for an installation that could not happen, but now my husband will have to do the same tomorrow. This whole process has been countless hours and frustration. I can promise you that if one more thing goes wrong they can forget it. I'll go back to the competition. #annoyed

I hear ya. The AT&T system doesn't appear to be set up to allow flowing orders (one disconnected and another turned on at the same time). The other issue is that the system WILL NOT let ANY customer service rep assign 2 accounts at the same address. That is probably why you had such difficulty. Typically you have to disco one's service and once it's clear of the system then order the new service at the same address. That would also explain why the installer didn't have the correct address. The CSR just entered a bogus address so the order would take. Bottom line is you can't have two accounts set up at one address.
