uverse app will not let me sign in

We'd be happy to help you sign in to the U-Verse app on your Fire TV, Tom_1961!

Are you able to sign in to your online account or the U-Verse app on your mobile device? If not, then this is likely an account problem. If you are able to sign in, we suggest troubleshooting the Fire TV itself.

Here are the steps:

1. Restart your Fire TV/Stick by unplugging the device, waiting 40 seconds, and plugging it back.
2. Restart your Gateway.
3. If connected wireless, try moving the router or Fire TV/Stick around to avoid any other devices that may cause interference.
4. Issues with a specific App:
   1. Select the effected App
   2. Clear the cache and/or data, which often resolves intermittent performance issues. Clearing data doesn't delete the app itself but may delete saved information (like account details or game scores).
   3. Change available settings for the app.
   4. For Amazon Fire TV devices, you have an option to move the app between internal and external storage.
   5. Force stop the app.
   6. Uninstall the app and then Reinstall the App.

Using your uverse TV subscription to login to apps requires use of your Uverse member ID or subaccounts.  

Clear you app data and then try again.

HBO Max app works fine.

HBOMax is a different service.  Uverse requires use of the member ID.   So go to att.com, manage your profile and figure out which is the correct credentials.   You can also create subaccount to use for this purpose.  

log into AT&T account and click on manage profile. On the bottom click on the manage sub account. Add sub account and create a new member id and password. your account will be created and then use that to login to u- verse.
