Uverse combined billing - TOTAL nightmare
Ive been an ATT wireless customer for over 15 years and never had a problem then I made the HUGE mistake of switching to a bundle with Uverse because it appeared to be a better deal financially. AND combined my cell bill with uverse because it sounded like an easy thing to do and would make paying my bills easier. RIGHT?! WRONG. so the deal was my monthly bill total with (wireless, tv and internet) would be $207. My first bill was $269 and I had already paid my cell bill of $116 but I thought well it was prorated yada yada and the first bill is always more. Then the next month is $322 and saying I am past due for a month on my cell bill, which I am not since all my accounts are auto payments. I chatted online with two representatives who were totally clueless and told me to ignore the amounts on my bill online because they were incorrect and too high and they would correct themselves in a month or two because of combined billing etc etc. so i dont worry about it until I try to upgrade my phone to a new one (FYI - they dont tell you when you combine your bills that you can not buy a phone anywhere else but an ATT store) found that out the hard way. Anyway, they wouldnt let me buy a phone until the past due amount was paid which I didnt owe. So the manager did something to clear the past due temporarily to allow me to buy the phone and didnt mention that the entire amount of $322 would be auto debited from my bank three days later. Went back into the store today and what a waste of another three hours. No money paid back into my account. Ive paid out $591 in two months for service that was supposed to be $414. I will have bills bounce this month because of this mismanaged scam of a company. I asked about the cancellation fee and I will happily spend the $150 to avoid what Im sure will be months and months of overcharges that will not be corrected.
