Watch your bill, mine just increased over 50%
Like others on here I have been a SWB/ATT customer for decades. My U-verse Internet and U-verse Voice bill just increased over 50%, from $80.71 per month to $121.12! It will be higher next month since this was a prorated month. After call number one to customer suppport it seems I was "bundled" as the competition likes to say. She couldn't do anything to help except offer to increase my speed for the same amount..........really???? Not happy, she turned me over to the loyalty department. All I want is to go back where I was, not price match Google Chrome or Time Warner, or......nope we can knock $25 bucks off but that is it. Not going to happen I tell her. So she tells me that she will have her manager call me back within 2-3 hours. That was first thing in the morning. About 4:30 I realize I haven't been called back...............go figure. So I call in again. This time I get "loyalty" department and ask for a manager. The rep says they are all trained the same and she can help/offer the same thing a manager can. Wonder why you can't get to a manager??? She tries to "bundle" me up again with more services!!! I was getting all excited and then I realized I felt like Jimmy Stewart being wooed by Mr Potter in It's a Wondefull Life. I finally said noooooo I want my old deal back first then we can discuss other changes. $25 bucks off take it or leave it is what I am told. I will put notes in here in case you change your mind. Well I am a creature that doesn't like change. I go to the same teller at the bank (she knows me by first name), the same gas pump, the same check in gal at the Dr office (again she remembers my name) so I really don't want to learn a new service provider. But sorry AT&T you gave me a lousy choice and I resent being bundled in the first place last year not knowing this expiration date was looming and this would be my outcome. Morale of the story fellow consumers is watch and LISTEN to what you are being offered. They are a big giant and could really care less about you. Now that I am going to change this part of our service,my kids tell me we are getting hosed on our cell phones also. Looks like that needs an update too!! If anybody has positive experiences on who likes new customers and cares about their wants and needs please let me know, or......how to fix AT&T issues so we don't have to change!

Your bill will increase for one of the following reasons:
1. A promotional rate or discount has expired.
2. You've changed/added/upgraded a service.
3. There is an 'across the board' increase that effects everyone. This will be happening in Feb.
Contrary to popular belief, ATT doesn't just increase your bill arbitrarily. There's a reason and the question is were you getting a discount that has now expired.
If you don't have previous bills to compare to your current bill, you can access those online.

Thank you for your response.
Yes I know my post was long and rambling. Obviously you didn't read it or you would have seen I addressed every one of your bullet points. You must work for AT&T.......................................

That is amazing !
Here in Calif. U-verse Phone is $ 35.00 for the first Line and $ 15.00 for a second line on the same acount. + Taxes
U-verse internet speed has a limit as it goes the "last mile" by OLD Copper shared with the phone and TV.
Last I heard the TOP speed was 6-18 mbps. Depends on how Close you are to the "BOX" (Hub)
Price varies, depends what service agent you get. But I never heard it going for $ 77.00
Are you in the NEW "FIBER to the HOUSE" area ?

Phone is actually $35 and the taxes and other stuff bump it up the rest of the way.
Antique service. Service Tech said plans are to upgrade but doesn't know when, so no new technology here. Same old mouse infested box in the backyard that has been here for years.
Google Fiber is in the neighborhood and has speed of 100!! With all the options added together it will drop our bill in half..............on the other hand TWC is after us (the wife has their service already for her work internet connection) with a plan to combine all of again, including TV stuff at half the price. I hate change but to save over $100/per month.....no brainer I guess. All I was asking was they kept the price at where it had been and I would have been happy. You would be surprised at how many people a small business man talks to in a day. Makes a great story and from what I am finding everyone dislikes phone companies. Kind of a human bonding thing. Would love it if they were a hero instead of a zero. That is the kind of story I would rather share.

"my thoughts"................big deal.................so what??? YOU PEOPLE MISS THE POINT. Reading your response is funny. I will print it off to put on my wall for whenever I want to have a laugh and remind myself how NOT TO TREAT CUSTOMERS.
-TOS..............blah blah
-bundles..........blah blah
-loyalty center.....blah blah
-retention ......blah blah
-speed, voip,ELITE-MAX-MAX PLUS,etc.......blah blah...who cares???
-customer service ....huh what is that??
Do any of you read and COMPREHEND what people say on these posts???
Your customers feel like they are getting the short end of the stick and you guys DON'T LISTEN.
When you throw up a whole page of garbage like you just did.....nobody cares, nobody follows it. We don't WANT to know what all that means. People want to be treated right and you are not....period. People don't want to be dazzled and confused by choices. Too much. We have better things to do than waste our life on the phone with uncaring reps.
For us......just like others in our neighborhood we will switch and save $$$
We will be watching as you go the way of the Steam Locomotive, Montgomery Wards, Blockbuster......have a nice day I am done here.

No, kslongtimeuser, you're missing the point. It appears that you want to select your own price. Well, then you need to go to priceline.com, because that's where you name your price.
If your business model worked, I suppose I could go to the gas station and tell them I want to pay $0.99/gallon for gas. Sometimes I can, but only when that's the price they offer due to their terms.
AT&T has standard prices. You can accept them. You can choose not to accept them and ask for a discount. You can choose not to accept the discount. You can complain. You can take your business elsewhere.
You should not expect that you can pay whatever you wish to pay to whomever you wish to select for your service.

@kslongtimeuser Let me respond to a couple of your 'concerns':
-TOS..............blah blah <--- These are the rules we all follow. You're not special.
-bundles..........blah blah <-- Bundle or don't. It's a choice you have to make.
-loyalty center.....blah blah <-- They offer what they can offer. Not what you want? Move on.
-retention ......blah blah <-- ATT would love to keep your business but if things don't work out, make a decision...stay or don't.
-speed, voip, ELITE-MAX-MAX PLUS,etc.......blah blah...who cares??? <-- This one really does matter. Discounts are applied individually to services...more services, more discounts.
-customer service ....huh what is that?? <-- They do the best that they can but there is a limit on what they can offer. If you don't like it, I'm sure you have choices.
I'd love for a loaf of bread to still be .49 but it's not. I wish gas was still .79 a gallon. I wish my darn water/light bill is what it was in 1976 but that's not going to happen.

As I see it, you are complaining because your discount is going down by $15 (from $40-25). Not bad in my opinion. I get $30 off after my 1st year promotion. If you don't like the new discount then change providers. Just be aware that all providers do the same thing. Give you big discounts to sign up and then go up after a year. Good luck with your new provider.
