Water pipe broken while digging U-verse box.. where to call

I'm not a customer for U-verse right now, but AT&T was digging in my front yard to install a box for U-verse and in the process the technitians broke the water pipe 3 feet from the water meter between the meter and my house... 30 days later my water bill arrive in the amount of $1,170.00.. so I checked my front line and find the U-verse and the water meter flooded.. I inmediatly close the water valve to stop the leakage.

The question is, who is going to pay for the water bill, and the pipe repair cost. and if somebody knows where to call directly to report this damage.

If I were you, I'd start with calling the water company.

Here in our state the law requires anyone who is going to dig to call the utilities...all of them....and have the location of lines and pipes located and marked with little colored flags.  The charges and fines are pretty stiff for failure to do this.  Yep....you can call the water company....but, if it was AT&T crew that broke the line....it seems to me that AT&T would be responsible for the repair charge and the over-charge for wasted water.  If it were me and the other two parties balk at all....I'd find an attorney to go after them.

When AT&T came out to put in new cable to serve our neighbor and the cable had to run down the property line....AT&T had the crew from the company that does the utility marking come out.  It was rather surprising to find services buried in strange places that we would never have suspected.

Unfortunately you're already passed that critical initial locating & marking stage.  So now you're gonna have to go get 'em....or see if you can get the water company to pursue AT&T for damage.  The catch here is that the damage, I think you said, is on your side of the meter.

I have the same issue and now the company that did it will not reply. Danella construction which broke and repaired the issue is not returning any calls regarding a $590 water bill we received. Daniella has companies all over the US. Locating the registered agent is hard. I hope someone has some ideas on what can be done.
