Weird chat with Johnny from At&T

Hi,

My bill is getting really high (I just paid $195 today for u-verse, internet and voice) so I wanted to see if there is any possibility to lower it. Johnny popped up on chat window and immediately said that he can get me a new price $168 plus taxes while adding more channels. I said it sounded nice. Then he offered an iphone 6s plus and was rather persistent with trying to sell me this one. I said that my credit is bad and I wasn't sure if I qualify, my downpayment would be high etc. "Your credit is perfect, there is no downpayment and only $80 a month plus taxes". He wanted my credit card number to charge me tax for this phone right away. I asked why they cannot add it to my automated pay? I refused and said I didn't want the device. Then he took my driving licence # to place and order just for the new u-verse service. Today I received some email (maybe from at&t maybe not) about service changes and that my new payment will be $205! It is too late to call cs now so will try first thing in the morning. This is outrageous... And what's the deal with my credit card to pay tax and dl #?
