what is AT&T email address to dispute my recent AT&T land line bill?
what is AT&T email address to submit contest to dispute my recent AT&T land line bill?
I was charged 216 local call minutes. I think AT&T is charging my calls to 800 toll free numbers.
My calls to AT&T 800-288-2020 end up with no resolutions. When I request talking to supervisor, each time I was on hold for over 30 minutes without anyone answer.

yes, I found out the reason why we are billed 216 minutes this month.
AT&T start charging us all local calls, including all our 800 toll free numbers calls are counted as local toll calls.
I am astonished what AT&T is doing.

Yes, AT&T is even charging us toll free number calls to AT&T asking this billing.
No wonder they kept me on hold for 4 calls, each lasting over 45 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes.

@lkw8888, when you say Land Line, do you have U-verse Voice or Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS)?

POTS - land line we had since 1977. Now after all these years, we are now retired living off retirement. Thank you AT&T.

Did you request a lower rate plan and change to a measured-rate line? When I was a rep I saw that several time...customers would call thinking the land line was a waste of money because they "never used it", but decided to keep the lowest price for emergencies, etc. We'd explain wiht the lowest rate, even local calls were limited/charges (it varied by state), but sure enough you'd get a call in a month or two complaining about the high prices because the line they "never used" had hundred of minutes worth of calls.
That might not be the situation here, but that was a non-unheard-of occurence back then.

U-verse Voice does count the minutes for all outgoing phone calls not made to a U-verse Voice line against your limit each month, including local, long distance and "toll-free" calls.
I've never heard of a POTS line counting toll-free calls against the local call quota.

This was my thought since Uverse Voice is the only 'measured' home phone service.
My SIL got the cheapest phone (ie: Voice) when they got Uverse TV service. I don't think they understood that they were only getting 200 mins./month until they got their first bill. They upgraded to Unlimited quickly.
The OP needs to check their bill to confirm that they now have Uverse Voice and not their original POTS.

yes, I have the measured rate line - cheapest possible.
But, I do not understand how AT&T justify counting 800 toll free calls as local calls. Including my calls to AT&T 800 number to find out why I was charge 200+ minutes. When I asked for supervisor, I was put on hold for over half hours each time without anyone answered.

Then you don't have POTS. You have Uverse Voice 200 which is a measured rate line. Check the price between that and UVoice Unlimited (North America). I think it's $10. Might be worth going that route.

@skeeterintexas, last time I checked it was still possible to get a POTS line with local metered service. I've never been inclined to do so. And, as I said before, I've never seen the local metered POTS service charged for toll free calls; POTS LMS has historically only counted minutes for calls within the local calling area. Intra-LATA and Inter-LATA were handled by your LD vendor, and toll free were just that.
I'm still not clear on whether @lkw8888 actually does have POTS or has U-verse Voice. I know I asked that question and got an answer, but...

Interesting....I checked the ATT website here@ and even the cheapest service (Standard Home Phone Service @ $26 mnth) says:
FLAT RATE SERVICE includes the line, unlimited local calling, and 911 services. Monthly rate does not include charges for long distance or local toll calling. Monthly rate excludes taxes, fees and other charges including universal service, installation, inside wire, and subscriber line charges. Flat rate service rates vary depending on service area. Rates subject to change.
Granted, the UNLIMITED local calling excludes toll calling.
I can't find any kind of metered landline service but I could be wrong. Heaven knows, I've been wrong before!

I have this telephone service since 1977. I have not ask for ANY change.
In my telephone bill, "Measured Rate Residence Service" for $22.25
Below, they listed local Usage, Local Calls (zone 1 and 2) - total 216 minutes for $21.50
They said this charge of toll free 800 number is now classified as local calls starting 2016.
Previous years before 2016, this local Usage is always zero charge. Because we ONLY use toll free 800 number of calling cards.
