Why do I have to do this DANCE every single year?

I am so flipping fed up with "the dance". Why can't I get quality service at a decent price without spending an hour on the phone while they try to get me to sign up for more services? I just hung up on "India" because my crappy internet service popped back to $52 after  the painful negotiotions of last year. She's trained to keep me on the phone and sell me more 12 month deals. I've had it. I hung up. If you can offer me a deal, you've been overcharging me. STOP IT. I am so angry right now. Quit treating us like chattle. I am FURIOUS.

I agree. AT&T and the rest of these monopolies need to focus on their loyal customers just as much as trying to lure new customers. Before canceling my TV service, we were paying 140 dollars for Internet/TV and another 200 for our cell phone bill all from AT&T. Heck, I still use my SBC Global email. How was I repaid for my loyalty? A 100% raise after a year in my cable bill. And the only way to get a lower bill is calling and hoping the person on the other end is in a good mood. Then you need to consider looking at another company like Comcast just to quote a price that you wish the company that is screwing you over will offer you. Thanks AT&T, amazing logic there.

I agree, but there's little I can do about it. There is no real competition is my area so AT & T essentially has a monopoly. If another company offered good service at a fair price I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

Everyone who gets a promotion knew that thr price will go up when the promotion is over. It is then up to the user to accept the increase or talk to retention to get a better deal. If that fails you can look at other options. To expect U-verse not to increase price to normal rates will not happen.

If ther were other viable options, I would certainly look at them. In my area, AT & T has a virtual monoploly.
