Why does Hopkinsvillel ky have no Kentucky TV news channel?

I live in Kentucky and our closest large city is Nashville TN.  I understand that I get all major stations but I get no news from my home state.  WPSD in Paducah is only one hour away and I could get local news from them but they are not in my channel lists.  When something happens in my state capitol I am interested and want to know. What about elections I don't even know who is running for anything in my own town because we have no news.  Aren't we supposed to get this kind of information.
