Any major updates to the DIRECTV Stream App for 2023?
Does anyone know if we are getting an update to the DIRECTV Streaming App that could allow us to make profiles or allow 4K content to be streamed? I know the MLB Network, FS1 and ESPN can stream in 4K on other platforms. (YouTube TV). It would be nice if we could start streaming in 4K this year; Or even make individual profiles.

No one here knows what is in any app update until it is released. We are all users such as yourself.

@lou_do Thanks for the response, I was hoping over time i might get a response from a DIRECTV employee with a little insight.

Any DirecTV employee who actually knows anything (which is unlikely to be the case with the reps who post here) wouldn't say. They (fairly reasonably) don't announce futures. Early on (under AT&T) they did sometimes make vague (and occasionally more specific) statements about some things that were "coming", and when those things either were delayed or didn't happen at all, the user base was pretty unhappy. So now the first announcement of new things is when they actually happen (or in a couple of cases, when a beta test of them happened).

When is the last time there was any major UI or feature update? I have been a customer for almost a year and I have never seen anything. Some basic DVR functionality like limiting recordings to a specific channel would be nice.

Depends what you call "major". Within the last year or so they added pause on live streams (plus implicit auto-record of the current channel), auto-extend on many sports events, "team" recording in the DVR, live game scores, Android TV as a supported platform, some level of pay-per-view, and some more minor things,
They certainly could do things to enhance the DVR (both on the programming side and on the managing recordings side), as well as bigger things like adding profiles. And arguably there could be improvements to the UI. But (as someone who has been around pretty much since the start) I can say there's been more enhancements to the service since DTV became a separate company (about a year and a half ago) than in the last 2 years or more when AT&T owned the service. So I'm hopeful that more improvements will be coming.
