App is constantly buffering
The app seems to be constantly buffering during programs. I'm trying to watch the Dolphins game on CBS, and the app is buffering. When it returns, the program is in Spanish. This happened last night while watching the Heat on a different channel. It buffers during other programs. It is very annoying. We are constantly going to the Guide Menu and going back to the channel.

There is an easy fix for this. Use another device. Dtv stream box, Roku, Firestick, Apple tv, and you can sideload Dtv stream onto an android tv box. I have a Samsung 4k TV and would never rely on it as the only source to use apps on. I use a Dtv stream box and also a Tivo stream 4k android dongle sideloaded app. The sideloaded app works better than the Samsung tv app lol.

I wanr DirecTV to own up to its responsibilities...
I don't think that is too much to ask for especially since the service is no longer competitive with other services that are now available.

I use a fire stick and it's not much better than the Samsung app. Doesn't buffer as much but still does it often. My internet is more than adequate (since it's just me) and service is just as bad when I use my mobile data with similar 90-120 mbps speeds. Worked nearly perfect for years with the same internet speeds. The simple fact is DTV's service has gone way downhill over the past 4 or 5 months. It's already too expensive for what it is but I'm on a grandfathered plan that includes more channels. I really need to look into other options as this terrible and they seem to be passing the buck and not concerned about correcting the problems.

I had a FireStick a while back. Some of the same issues with several apps. Two weeks ago I got a Roku, it's only buffered a couple times in two weeks. Way better

When reading many of the user comments, we see a constant common denominator and it's called "DirecTV Stream" and their inadequacy to deliver a pleasurable viewing experience.

Same issue. Buffering only occurs with the direct stream app. Ive never had this problem with any other streaming service or with any other app. Its getting to the point where I will have to cancel and switch services

The buffering is on my Samsung TV (series 7). Have done everything but put an ether (RJ45) cable to it - due to upstairs / downstairs location of router, this won't be happening. Called DirectTV Stream support - they said they are working on a fix (no kidding?) and then nothing back on work order #

This is a known issue for quite some time and there are many many threads on the Samsung app. Try a firestick, roku, apple tv, or dtv stream box.

So basically, if I want to keep DirectTv Stream with my Samsung TV, I need to spend more money by renting the dtv stream box or buying a fire stick/Apple TV device.....Or I can switch back to Youtube TV which was working fine?

@bcbsncjlj One last question and sorry if this was answered and I missed it...
Would the issue be resolved if I connected via ethernet cable?
