AT&T TV Now worked on Linux PC until Switch to DirectTV Stream. Now? Channels won't load.

Initially after the switch to Direct TV Stream, it worked on my Linux PC. Now? I can log in. I see my channel lineup. Nothing loads...including my DVR recordings. AT&T support is not helpful. One agent suggested I abandon my Linux OS. I will not. I booted to Windows 10. Downloaded/installed the Direct TV Player app. Same issue. Nothing plays/loads.

Hopefully someone has a solution. This should have been an easy/seamless switch.  Instead, it's ridiculous.

Obviously, DirectTV and AT&T decided to tinker with something that was working just fine on Windows, Mac and Linux. Why the need to break something that wasn't broken?

DavidC. Thanks.Know that: I am using the correct website (currently logged in there). I deleted cookies-which I do each time I close any browser. I have tried Firefox, Brave, all of my browsers worked in the past-up until 3 days ago. I can still log in! That's not the issue.  The issue is that when I click on a channel or saved DVR recording I get a BLANK blue screen. Nothing plays. Same is true on both Linux and Windows 10. I can watch on both of my Roku Devices and my iPhone.

The only device it does not work on is my PC.  Very strange.

DavidC,

UPDATE.  Restarted my computer and everything seems to be working. Appreciate your assistance. Not quite sure what the exact problem was.  If I find out I will post "my" solution.

Thanks again!

The DirecTV Player app is only for DirecTV (satellite) subscribers, not DirecTV Stream subscribers.

I can successfully use the service on Win10 (haven't tried other OSs) but it has been rejecting my use of any browser other than Chrome (or Edge, which is built on Chromium).  It used to work on Firefox and Opera (never tried it on Brave).  However, the limitation to Chrome and Safari used to be the case - in fact the error message directing you to use one of those seems to match the message that existed several years ago.  Hopefully this is a temporary thing, as I have no particular interest in using Chrome or Edge...

Jrandomuser,

Thanks for relaying your experiences. I thought what you noted re: DirectTV Player app, which is why I was surprised when the Chat Agent advised me to install it in Windows 10. Like you, I have no interest in Chrome or Edge browsers. Thus far, I have gotten it to work with alternative browsers.  It WILL work with Linux OS, which I went to some time ago. I still have Windows 10 on another hard drive. I never connect online with Windows. Only use it for apps I like that only work with Windows or Mac.

Again, thanks to all who responded!

To all:  Whatever browser you may choose...be sure that if your browser has a "shield" or other blocker for security purposes, disable it ONLY for DirectTV Stream link. That will enable it to work properly and not sense it could be an "unsafe site".

I strongly suspect that was my issue.
