Auto extend recordings for tennis

We watch a lot of tennis, especially on the Tennis Channel, and the matches frequently extend beyond their scheduled end. I see that the auto-extend feature does not apply to tennis. Is this upcoming?

To work around this, we will set to record the show that follows the match which, on the Tennis Channel. will have the same title, but that one fails to record, even with the series recording set to all showings (i.e., not just the new ones).

We have two boxes in the house, at we get the same results from each one.

Can you help?

Your workaround is the best solution as of right now.
If it is not recording, do you have unlimited DVR storage?
the program airing after the tennis event should be recorded manually (not through a series recording).

Well I was shocked the other day.  I recorded the OSCARs and it went over the 3 hours but DTV Stream recorded the whole thing.  The recording shows 3 hrs 1 minute recorded but when watching, the whole 4 hours was there.  I couldn't believe it.  Is this something new that I missed?

Thanks for the response, detuch254, but that has not worked. When we've tried to manually record the following event, which has the same title, we are presented with only the option to cancel the series because it recognizes the title as part of the series. However, it fails to actually record it.

I believe in that case you can't use a series recording, but will have to set (single episode) recordings for the specific match you want and the following program.
