Ballys sports channel

Can someone please help me understand DirectTv streaming and watching local games on the the Ballys Sports channel?  I just started a trial of directtv streaming as I thought it was the only way to watch the Ballys sports channel outside of cable tv.  Tonight there is a local  MLB game playing on the Ballys channel.  But I have no option to watch it.  Only a game not being played locally.  Are local games blocked out?  I also see a Ballys app where I can say my TV provider is directtv streaming. Is that supposed to let me stream local games?  Please and thank you
