Can't fast forward playback with Apple TV remote

I seem to remember that app does not support fast forwarding

I have exactly the same problem - I can't get my AppleTV remote to fast forward through DirecTV Stream recorded content.  Moving to near the end of a 3-hour football game using only 30-second jump-ahead requires over 360 clicks.  From the comments below, it appears as though the DirecTV Stream app on AppleTV does not support fast-forwarding. Does anyone know of a solution to this?  

I finally figured out the solution.  The trick is to (1) click the Pause button, (2) slide your finger sideways on the trackpad to move the cursor to the time-spot you want, and then (3) click the Play button.  I had been trying to fast-forward while playing, and that doesn't work.
