Can’t pause tv streaming

I am using an Amazon fire box-streaming directtv won’t hold a buffer when I pause a live tv show. If I watch a show I can rewind and watch previous scenes- but if I pause it just comes off pause at the real time mark and rewinding is not an option.

I’ve seen several references to a 60 minute limit- what I’m talking about is never more than 15 minutes.

(Most of?) the other streaming devices supported by DirecTV Stream apps (Roku, Apple devices, etc.) do support pause and also start an implicit (sliding window) recording when you switch to a channel, letting you rewind (within that recording) and fast forward.  The maximum "window size" for this recording is indeed 60 minutes.  For some reason (at least the last time I checked) this feature still had not been added to the FireTV version of the app.  Since the recording itself is in the cloud and the app is only responsible for signalling/controlling it, it's unknown why it hasn't made it to the FireTV app.

Did you ever get you pausing of live streaming to work for sports?

mine happened about the same time. I have a fire stick 3 Rokus and an Xbox and if I record a sporting AND it’s live I have to wait until AFTER it is no longer live. BY THAT TIME I KNOW THE SCORE ALREADY. 😡
