CBS
I'm receiving 'there's a problem with this channel' notification on CBS thru my directv stream since 11/19/22. Is that off our channel list like fox now? What's wrong with the channel stream?

Every TV provider goes through disputes your best bet would be to 1.) Get an antenna then you could get them for free. OR 2.) you could get paramount plus which plays all the CBS channels live and on demand.

Not getting alot of 'customer support' on this issue. Not sure what kind of service exactly I'm paying for anymore these days.

What device are you using? Is it working on another device like your phone, PC, or a tablet?

Streaming, roku tv directv app. Signed in and CBS not getting a signal. After an hour wait yesterday evening apparently for my city and the city next door there is an 'outage' for CBS and they're working on it. However there is some other CBS dispute with another area. So I'm currently showing a feed not coming in. I bet if I paid for CBS's app I'd get a signal. Once again we are the victims of something we knew nothing about until they cut the feed. Geez
It'd be real neat if they made a service where you could pay for a set of channels/package that you want and not have to worry about this broadcast bickering or paying another fee for a particular channel group's app. Oh wait we used to have that. It's like a full circle circle (Edited per community guidelines). They would rather nickel and dime you to death for their silo'd service than give you a total package. Nuts. Glad I remember how to access the free channels.

Thank you. I do understand they go thru disputes I just don't remember them cutting it off back then, it's a (Edited per community guidelines) move and a crap excuse honestly. I would never throw that out there as customer service line. But that aside I do have paramount plus espn+, hulu+, att internet , att wireless, hbo max, disney+ and I do have a 'digital' antenna that they had us get some years back. So I just believe they do themselves a disservice when you pay for a service and expect it to be there bc they do take my money every month ( that doesn't go down when service goes down). I'm sure tho that excuse wouldn't fly with a phone service that gets in a dispute with a tower provider and just cut you off from some towers they don't control. SMH. I'm aware of the service I have and what they can choose to do. Guess it seems they take customers for granted. Thanks for the tips!

The “they” is generally the local broadcast station, whose owners are demanding ever larger carriage fees from the various cable, satellite, and streaming services - probably because the stations’ ad revenues are down, and they want to make it up somehow. I’m not thrilled that Congress and the FCC decided that the local stations - whose content is free if you get it with an antenna - can charge a retransmission service whatever they want. Those services can’t just give in, or your monthly bill would go up every month. But the stations (and “cable networks”) are very good at getting subscribers to blame the carriers rather than them, by leveraging their ability to just cut the carriers off.
