Changing channels and skipping not favorites
When watching live TV I want to change channels but only move to my next favorite. Instead, the control insists on going to the next available channel even if it is NOT one marked as favorite. I am not interested inSpanish language, shopping or kid's channels. I know I can use the guide, but is not all that helpful. Is there a setting somewhere that make the channel up/down button just hit favorites?

Unfortunately, the guide filters (Favorites, Sports, Movies, etc.) only apply to the guide, not to surfing, and there is (currently at least) no way to change that. That feature has been asked for, but so far not provided. (My personal preference instead of using favorites to limit the channels would be if they allowed the channel list to be edited - both the which entries are included and the order - and have that apply to both the guide and surfing. Ideally this would be in conjunction with adding profiles, so each profile could have its own channel list. I doubt anything like that will show up, at least anytime soon, but one can hope.)

I like your suggestion and it made me wonder if DTV has a "customer advisory group"? A small group of loyal customers to provide DTV with input and feedback on service, issues, and potential upgrades.
