Though many enhancements to allow flexibility in the EPG have been requested over the years, they haven't offered any (aside from the "favorites" that were noted).
Perhaps under the new company that will change. Among the things that I know people have asked for are editing the channel list (what's there and in what order), reskinning, making it easier to skip ahead days, and more command features right in the guide (like selecting a program to record without having to open it first). With the possible exception of reskinning, the only thing limiting those is that the remotes have limited buttons to request things (especially the commodity streamers - their own isn't as limited). But their competition offers at least some of those on commodity streamers, so it is possible - maybe when TV is their only business they will devote more money/effort to the product.

Very limited. Try the trial and judge for yourself.

You can create a Favorite list, and eliminate some of the channels you don't watch.
