Content has limited number of streams allowed. Watch a different show

What's this about?  Can't watch the same channel on two different TVs??

Streaming Fox Business on downstairs TV.   Can't stream Fox Business, Fox News or FS1 on upstairs TV .  It says " Content has limited number of simultaneous streams allowed.  Choose something different to watch or ask whomever else is streaming this content to stop doing so. "

Kind of makes me want to go back to Cox.

Hello @Lstar1111 Thanks for your insight!

Let's clarify some information, we want to provide you with the assistance you deserve. Do you get this error when you try to watch from our DIRECTV STREAM or the Network app?

What deuces are you using on both TVs? Are you using apps or DirecTV Steam?

@Lstar1111

Device has nothing t do with number of streams. The FOX stations limit is three on Directv Stream.

From a knowledge article here: https://www.directv.com/support/stream/article/KM1354360

Network exclusions

Some networks only allow you to have three streams at the same time. This includes both watching in your home or on the go. These networks include:

  • Fox channels: Big Ten Network, Fox News, Fox Business, FS1, FS2, Fox Deportes and Fox local channels
  • STARZ®
  • NHL Network

Thanks for clarifying @Lstar1111.

Keep in mind only up to 3 streams per account is allowed within the home network, so we highly suggest to double check how many devices are connected to the home network.

Also, channels like Fox Business, Fox News and more are attached to some Network exclusions that only allows them to have up to 3 streams per account. Here
you can confirm and see how many streams can have access to those Networks.

If you have any questions, please let us know. We are here to help

I get the 3 Streams max.  I am talking 1 stream and the 2nd one is disallowed.  Is there any way to tell what devices are streaming to your home network at any particular time?

The usual answer on this forum is to install and reinstall pretty much the whole system.

Thanks for the details about your streaming devices, @Lstar1111.

As of now, there isn't an option to see how many devices are connected to the same network. At this point, we recommend that you change the password
and sign out of all known devices you're account is logged into.
