Customizing captioning

The captioning using our Firestick streaming device is obnoxious and cannot be customized.   Full customization is available while viewing on my laptop using the web site feed.  Why can't captions be customized using all devices?  Why can't the customized captions be saved and applied to my account for all devices?

I think you can go into your firestick settings--captions and change the way captions look---and that applies to apps without their own caption settings.

Thank you Ludwick577!!!  You were absolutely right.  It was in the Firestick settings in the Accessibility section.  Captions can be customized in many ways.  You can make them much less obnoxious.

Hello @DaveMaynard  thanks for reaching out.

We would like to share with you that the customization of the close captioning may vary from device to device, some of them has a standard close caption, while others give you the option to modify it, that depends on the device itself.

In case that you have any question or concern, do not hesitate to reach us back, we'll be ready to help you.

I suspected that this was partially the reason why I couldn't customize the DirecTV captions although, some of the other programming I watch on the same Firestick device has customizable captioning.  For instance I can customize video captioning when using FreeVee or when viewing original Prime content.  So your reply doesn't fully explain why your content captioning can't be customized.

Thanks for the heads-up @DaveMaynard

As we mentioned before the close captioning depends on the device itself, but it also can vary from different apps since the customization is on the app but on the service.

You can also learn more about the Closed Caption feature, we appreciate you taking the time to make us aware of this, and we will take your feedback into consideration.
