Deleted Post from Yesterday: Missing Premium Movie Subscription Channels

Yesterday evening I saw a post come across this forum with the title:

Why is Directv Stream Missing So Many Premium Movie Subscription Channels

This post was submitted by @dpeterfam and asked about the fact that DirecTV Stream doesn't carry all the HBO, Cinemax, Showtime channels that other providers carry (including DirecTV Satellite and UVerse, among others).

He mentioned in his post that he called into tech support and was told over a week ago that within a week they would add those extra channels to the Stream service and he felt that he was being misinformed by tech support because it hadn't happened yet and didn't look like it was going to happen.

I'm curious as to why that post was deleted, and by whom?

It seems like a fair question for this person to ask since we are being billed roughly the same amount for the premiums as other providers do, but are not getting the same amount of channels.  YES, I get it, we get the full on-demand library where all programming lives, but I prefer to have channels airing movies regularly.  I don't always know what I want to watch, and having HBO Comedy channel, for example, would give me ideas of what's on or remind me of a movie that I'd forgotten about that I really like.

I compare it to radio... having Apple Music or Spotify is great, for example, because you can listen to whatever you want whenever you want... but radio gives you ideas of what's good, what to listen to and what's hot.

I too would like to know if there is a plan by DirecTV Stream to carry these extra channels.  I think it would go a long way, among other things, to get people to consider leaving traditional cable for DirecTV Stream.

Thanks!

Exactly my point, other services carry these channels. I know its not traditional cable or satellite, but Youtube TV and Fubo TV have those premium channels, they don't make you pay the premium and not give you the channels.

I believe Directv deleted the posted and made it private because they don't want people to know this information. The premier package is a ripoff. I have since downgraded to the Ultimate and demanded a refund from the premier package. Until those channels are added I won't be subscribing to that package.

I just wanted to try something new and to be honest Directv has a lot of good things going for it. They have a better remote using their streaming box than say Nvidia Shield or Google Chromecast. I think the UI layout is nice as well, channels are clear,  and I haven't had a problem with buffering yet (All my boxes are wired Ethernet).

The difference between the Ultimate package and the premier package is pretty much the premium movie channels and it just doesn't make sense signing up for those unless the channels are available.
